The EMEA segment within TOMRA Collection is expanding operations into many new markets throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa, whilst simultaneously needing to strength and synergize its existing market capacity. Like in all businesses, such expansion requires a strong focus on financial responsibilities, both internally and externally. The segment needs someone to elevate these responsibilities whilst driving positive financial outcomes – a leader with a strong moral and ethical compass who displays integrity and care to ensure prosperity for TOMRA Collection and all of its stakeholders.

What does the role involve?
The Head of Finance EMEA will be responsible for developing and leading the finance function across the EMEA Business Area. This role involves driving financial outcomes, establishing processes and procedures in both new and exsisting markets, and supporting the EMEA Leadership Team with financial analysis and strategic insight. The ideal candidate will have both a start-up and large corporate mindset, someone who is flexible and willing to work closely with local markets when required.

Your responsibilities:

Development of Finance Function, including:

  • Enhance finance processes, tools, and capabilities throughout the EMEA segment
  • Lead the finance team virtual network, ensuring effective communication and collaboration
  • Ensure that robust internal controls are established within the segment
  • Take over the controlling function and analytical review to enable the segment to lead effectively

Financial Reporting and Analysis, including:

  • Oversee reporting, controlling, and analysis of financial data
  • Gather and provide feedback on EMEA figures and budgets
  • Support the EMEA Leadership Team and Head of EMEA with financial analysis for each business unit
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data

Change Management, including:

  • Evolve the finance function to meet the needs of an expanding segment
  • Act as change manager for the finance support function, driving outcomes through finance resources

Market Expansion, including:

  • Establish capacity, processes, and procedures in new markets
  • Support the expansion efforts to achieve revenue growth over the next five years

Strategic Support, including:

  • Provide information and forecasting to help the segment understand its current financial status
  • Identify areas for improvement and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive growth
  • Take a critical view of the numbers and work on improving gross margins

What does the role require?

As our new Head of Finance EMEA, you need to be a dynamic and strategic leader, with a blend of start-up and large corporate experience. You should be adaptable, proactive, and capable of driving financial success in a rapidly growing business environment.

To succeed in this role, we believe the following is essential:

  • Proven experience in leading finance functions in both start-up and large corporate environments, with good feedback from your peers and superiors
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing finance teams
  • Strong track record of enhancing finance processes, tools, and capabilities
  • Interest in pursuing technological opportunities, especially artificial intelligence
  • Ability to build and adapt finance functions close to the markets, including flexibility and willingness to step in at local levels as needed
  • Willingness to travel and support a growth organization expanding into different markets

The location for the role would primarily be TOMRA’s headquarters in Asker, or our office in the Netherlands (Apeldoorn). The working language is English.

Preferred experience

  • Relevant higher education in finance and economics, preferably at master level with strong results
  • International experience is an advantage
  • Experience with establishing finance processes and procedures in new businesses or acquisitions
  • Proven ability to support market expansion efforts and achieve significant revenue growth
  • Ability to deliver financial analyses and insights that drive strategic decision-making
  • Skilled in developing strategies for new market entry and cost management
